Day 4

September 19th, 2009 Duke 1 comment

What can I say about Camp Hope?  Now I know why all of our guys want to keep coming back.  It’s great!  The cabin, the grounds, the warm welcome… we got the whole package deal, and it was fantastic.  After spending the morning on the farm checking out the property… thanks Jerry for the tour!… we were off to AMVETS Post 48.  Again, what a welcome!  Lunch, AMVETS and AMVETS Riders membership for the Camp Hope Riders, an escort through St. Louis to Post 88, etc… we had a great time with some very special people!  Thanks to Bill the Post 48 AMVETS Riders President and all those who met with us, and especially those that were able to take the time and ride with us through the city and get us on our way.   Our sincere thank you!

By the way… check out those T-shirts!

Day 3

September 19th, 2009 Duke No comments

Day 3 began with a late start.  We got one of the bikes serviced and spent most of the day on the road.  We arrived in Farmington, Missouri late and exhausted.  But every day is an opportunity to meet people and share Camp Hope’s message, and today was no different.  In Farmington we were met by Jerry and Jimmy, and by VFW Post 5896 and Tony Carroll the Post Commander who welcomed us into Farmington with dinner and warm hospitality.  After spending some time at the VFW, Jerry and Jimmy escorted us to Camp Hope.  The place is great!!!  More to follow…
